About the role

Crossroads Gold Corp is seeking an experienced Exploration Geologist to join our team on a 12-month contract basis.

This is an opportunity to contribute to active mineral exploration programs across South East Australia, with an initial focus on projects in the Pambula region of New South Wales.

As an Exploration Geologist, you will support the planning and execution of exploration activities including target generation, geological mapping, field sampling, drill program supervision, geological interpretation and technical reporting. You will play an important role in advancing prospective mineral projects and contributing to the discovery and evaluation of economic mineral resources.

The role is field-based and will involve regular travel between project locations throughout New South Wales and Victoria, together with office-based reporting and project support activities. Applicants may be based anywhere within South East Australia, provided they are willing to travel as required.

This position would suit a practical and motivated geologist with approximately five years’ experience who enjoys working outdoors and contributing across all stages of the exploration process.

Key Responsibilities

Geological mapping and interpretation

1. Soil, rock chip and stream sediment sampling

2. Drill program planning, supervision and logging

3. Management of exploration contractors and field crews

4. Collection, validation and management of geological data

5. GIS and database management

6. Target generation and prospect evaluation

7. Preparation of technical reports and exploration updates

8. Assisting with environmental, heritage and land access requirements

9. Ensure work is completed in accordance with company safety procedures

Essential Requirements

• Degree in Geology, Earth Sciences or related discipline

• Approximately 5 years’ mineral exploration experience

• Experience in gold and/or base metal exploration

• Strong field mapping and sampling skills

• Experience supervising drill programs

• Ability to work independently

• Current Australian Driver’s Licence

• Strong communication and reporting skills

• Willingness to travel between project locations

Desirable

• Experience with QGIS, or similar

• Geological database experience

• Knowledge of NSW and Victorian exploration approvals

• RC and diamond drilling experience

• First Aid Certificate

• Four-wheel-drive experience
